Why Follow Up?

The Bible teaches that a person must understand the Gospel in order to have saving faith. This is why the follow-up of those making decisions at a GO TELL Crusade is the single most important facet of the entire Crusade process.

Acts 8:30-31 NKJV

So Philip ran to him, heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?" And he said, "How can I, unless someone guides me?"

Just as a newborn baby requires love and nourishment in order to grow, a new believer requires the caring, compassionate follow-up of the local church.

Invitation

Follow Up At the conclusion of the Crusade each night, Rick will give the audience an opportunity to respond to the Biblical message that was just shared. He will invite them to get out of their seats and make their way toward the stage. The purpose of this is threefold: first, they can physically meet with a trained counselor. Secondly, Jesus said, "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven” Matt 10:32-33 (NKJV). Experience has shown that public confession eliminates many who are not serious about a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Third, this gives us the opportunity to document their decision for further follow-up.

Counseling Advisors

Trained Counseling Advisors will be dispersed throughout the counseling area to answer questions, receive decision cards, and deal with crisis intervention if necessary. These Advisors are usually pastors or well-experienced laypersons that are selected by the Counseling & Follow-up Chairman.

Follow-up Team

Go Tell recommends that each church attempt a follow-up visit with every person who made a decision at the Crusade.

New Believer’s Class

One week after the Crusade, a New Believer’s Class is offered at the local church. This class is geared to assist new believers in developing a solid foundation in their newfound faith.
